Frequently asked questions.
- Who does Museum Park Capital serve?
-
Museum Park Capital serves individuals, families, high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and retirement plans seeking research-driven investment advice grounded in independent thinking and a long-term perspective.
Because our portfolios are concentrated and may experience significant volatility, our approach will not be appropriate for every investor. We evaluate each prospective relationship to determine whether our investment philosophy, services, and risk profile are a suitable fit.
- What is your investment approach?
-
We combine top-down analysis of the structural forces reshaping industries and economies with bottom-up research into individual businesses.
We look for companies undergoing meaningful transformation before that change is fully recognized by the market. Every investment thesis considers valuation, potential catalysts, material risks, and the developments that could prove our conclusions wrong.
You can learn more on our Investment Philosophy page.
- Who actually manages my account?
-
Yousef Salama, the firm's founder, does. He is Museum Park Capital's sole investment adviser representative, meaning every client relationship, every piece of research, and every recommendation comes from the same person.
There is no team your account gets handed off to and no junior analyst standing in. The person who studies a company or a theme is the same person you talk to and the same person whose name is on the recommendation.
- How concentrated is a typical portfolio?
-
A portfolio built around our highest-conviction ideas will typically contain approximately 8 to 12 positions rather than being broadly diversified.
Concentration allows each investment to have a meaningful effect on the portfolio, but it can also materially increase volatility and the risk of loss, particularly when one or more holdings perform poorly. A concentrated portfolio does not ensure superior returns and will not be appropriate for every client's objectives, financial circumstances, or risk tolerance.
- Do I have to invest in a concentrated portfolio?
-
No. A concentrated portfolio, generally 8 to 12 positions, is our starting point, but it isn't a requirement for working with us.
If a different mix suits your goals or comfort level better, we build your portfolio that way instead: more individual holdings, funds that already spread your money across many stocks or bonds, cash, or other tools, so no single investment carries as much weight.
What doesn't change is how we make decisions. We research every recommendation ourselves, rather than following what everyone else is buying, whether your account holds 8 positions or 30.
- Is my account discretionary?
-
No. Museum Park Capital manages accounts on a non-discretionary basis.
We present our recommendations and supporting rationale to you, but no transaction is placed in your account without your prior approval. You retain the authority to accept or decline each recommendation.
- Does Museum Park Capital ever have access to my money?
-
No, not in the way that matters. Your money and investments are held by an independent, qualified custodian, not by Museum Park Capital, and we cannot withdraw or transfer your funds or securities for any reason. The one exception is the advisory fee itself, and only with your written authorization, as described in "How do your fees work?"
- Is there an account minimum?
-
Yes. Museum Park Capital generally requires a minimum account size of $50,000 to establish and maintain an ongoing portfolio management relationship.
The firm may waive or modify this minimum at its discretion based on the nature and scope of a particular relationship.
- How do your fees work?
-
For ongoing portfolio management, Museum Park Capital charges an annual management fee of 1.50% of assets under management, billed quarterly in arrears, plus a $2,000 annual advisory retainer. The retainer covers ongoing investment research, monitoring of investment theses, and strategy consultations.
This fee and retainer are paid one of two ways. If your custodian supports direct fee deduction and you have authorized it in writing, we deduct the fee directly from your account, send you an itemized invoice showing how it was calculated, and send a copy to your custodian, whose account statement will separately show the amount paid to us so you can compare the two. If your custodian does not support direct deduction, or you have not authorized it, we bill the fee directly by invoice instead.
Fees reduce investment returns. Clients may also incur brokerage, custody, fund, tax, and other expenses that are not paid to Museum Park Capital.
Fixed-fee engagements are also available:
- $1,500 for a portfolio review, second opinion, or research concerning a single security
- $7,500 for a comprehensive consulting or thematic research engagement
The scope, deliverables, billing terms, and responsibilities associated with each fixed-fee engagement are agreed upon in writing before work begins. Fixed fees are always billed by invoice and are never deducted from any custodial account.
Museum Park Capital does not charge performance-based fees or receive commissions from the purchase or sale of investments. Fees may be negotiable at the firm's discretion depending on the nature and scope of the relationship. Complete information about our fees appears in our Form ADV Part 2 Brochures and the applicable client agreement.
- How do clients access your research?
-
Clients receive research and investment communications through a secure client portal.
A limited selection of our research is also available publicly, allowing prospective clients to understand the depth of our work and how we approach investment decisions before engaging the firm.
- Is Museum Park Capital a registered investment adviser?
-
Yes. Museum Park Capital is registered as an investment adviser with the Illinois Securities Department.
Registration does not imply that the State of Illinois or any other regulator has approved or endorsed the firm, its qualifications, or its investment approach.
- What happens if I want to end the relationship?
-
Either the client or Museum Park Capital may terminate an advisory relationship by providing written notice in accordance with the applicable client agreement.
Asset-based management fees are billed in arrears. Any amount earned through the effective termination date will be calculated and invoiced at that time. The treatment of the annual advisory retainer or any fixed fee will be governed by the terms of the applicable agreement.
Termination does not automatically result in the sale of securities held in the client's account. The client remains responsible for deciding whether to retain, sell, or transfer those investments after the advisory relationship ends.
- Where can I find your full disclosures?

Our Form ADV is available through the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure website, by downloading the brochure directly, or on request.
